At 9am the bell rung
{I'm assuming because it rang at 10}.
The Chapel Market was open for business!
We arrived a little past
9:30 and waited in line
for a little bit.
No complaining was heard
except for the
"Aww... that's so cute. Oh, I want that!"
as we watched ladies carry out their
fabulous prizes.
I took my man with me so
as we are standing in line, I see the
wheels turning.
Won't say what was said but I'm glad
that I have a lot of years ahead of
me for all the great ideas
I need to do before, well, you know.
Here's a few shots from the line.
The Waters is such a cute, quaint development.
Oh, and I bumped into Rhoda
from Southern Hospitality.
She's so nice! I tell her who I am
and she said, "Oh, yeah!",
which I suppose is good answer to
everyone that says their blog name.
Ha! Good enough for me!
I'll share more photos of The Waters at the end.
And, we're in!
I would have liked to take more
photographs of displays BUT it
was packed and the ones I did get were between
heads and super quick.
I would have liked to take more
photographs of displays BUT it

What do I do first?
Scout the room to find
some familiar blog faces.
Bing, bing, BING!
Layla from The Lettered Cottage
is right in front of me.
She's adorable!!
We chit chat for a minute and I remind
her of the video she posted on
Union Springs and how we watched it
over and over before we decided to come
for a visit.
Right next to her was Miss. Mustard Seed,
Marian Parsons.
She too, is adorable!
Bruce must have been nervous. If you squint, it kinda makes it less blurry. |
I knew I wanted to pick up
one of her books for my giveaway
because I bought one several
months ago and love it.
It's a great read, not just a decorating
book or a DIY. It talks to you.
You'll love it too.
Hopefully you will win this copy
as I had her sign it for you.
{Oh, you're welcome!}
Author, Mary Kay Andrews was
there signing books and this was
her release of her new book,
Christmas Bliss.
Next, we shopped Urban Farmgirl.
Cute, cute stuff! Her booth reminded
me of a friends in California.
My big purchase: Mama got a new t-shirt!
In the center was a beautiful flower
cart filled with vibrant color.
I should have bought those
Then a local gal from Troy,
Shaunna from Perfectly Imperfect.
We chit chatted about homeschooling
Next up, Thistlewood Farm {KariAnne}.
She is so stinkin' cute!
Loved her {cleared out} booth.
She was embarrassed because she didn't want
There was no price on the basket so
I inquired.
"$1 per piece"
Come again?
"Only a dollar?"
"Uh, huh!"
{I rushed over before any eavesdroppers got there first}
1, 2, 3, ....20!
Now, I know KariAnne recognized me
because we sometimes converse back
and forth via email.
She's a Rock Star.
As we start to exit so others can come in,
we stop at the last booth.
E.A.T. South.
They address challenges for creating a healthy
food system across the State to
develop Food Policy Councils.
In May, 2014, they'll be having a
big shin-dig in Montgomery.
Can't wait to go to that.
And that concludes the
Chapel Market of 2013!

DeleteAmber,
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the giveaway book! I have six pieces to paint and only one of them is started....and hasn't been finished since last June! I get so nervous that it won't be "all my mind has in store"...silly, I know. and I have had a wildly busy summer, but that is just an excuse! I could use the inspiration! You are so muich more brave than I!
What a great sale, I wish I could have been there with you! You Rock Amber!
Hearts,
Betsy
Consider yourself entered Miss. Joslyn! Don't be nervous about your projects. Remember, it's only paint and can be fixed. That's my motto!
DeleteAmber,
ReplyDeleteI comented but I do not know what happened to it! I would love to win the book, I have projects to paint and I am a bit scared about it. I am Not nearly as confident as you! Love your pictures, what a calming place to visit! I LOVE seeing Spanish Moss in the trees, I recall that from our trips to Alabama and South Carolina.
What a great day you had, thanks for sharing it with us and generously offering us a piece of your day!
Hugs,
Betsy
Alabama is too beautiful not to share. It was a beautiful Fall day on Saturday, a little sprinkle and cool. I was so excited to wear boots and a sweater!

Haha! I love it Sheila! I will put your name in the hat because I hear you loud and clear. Start a "Trip to Alabama" change jar so you can come visit next year. There are shows popping up like crazy here and the ladies here LOVE them!
DeleteWow! What a wonderful day you had! Can you believe it? It is more fun to see the faces than it is to see the "finds" there. Those pictures of the area are just gorgeous, too. I am so glad that life has smiled on you and that you love where you are living. God bless. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteps. I don't often sign up for giveaways but when it is a book that I don't have I can't resist! Throw my name in the mix. Thanks!
Well Miss.Diana, I'm glad you are entering this giveaway! I was a super fantastic day. Hubby and I made it a day date. We don't get out much alone so it was the perfect opportunity.
DeleteAmber- Do you have any idea why my computer/blogger won't recognize your URL and let me post it on my sidebar? I still have Black Rooster Cottage on there but I can't get your new URL to work. Let me know if YOU know- Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHI, Amber, so nice to meet you, thanks for saying hello! You are so cute in your hat. I just read your story of moving South from CA and loved it. Life is so hard, but looks like you are loving your new home. Are you in Montgomery area? There's nothing like the South and I think you will never want to leave. Take care & so glad you came to the Chapel market! I loved every minute of it, even though I'm not as wild and crazy as Kari!
ReplyDeleteHello Rhoda! Wow, I am beyond thrilled to have you find my blog! :) It was nice to meet you too. I can tell Miss. KariAnne can be a wild one. We are about 30 minutes outside of Montgomery and we are completely in love with the South, with no intentions of leaving, ever (except maybe a vacation or two... maybe). :) Have a beautiful day!
DeleteHi Amber,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog ....Now I want to take a road trip : ) Please enter my name for your book give away.

Come on down, Sonia! I say it over and over, Alabama is so beautiful! Even as a young girl, I dreamed of living in the Country and I can't believe we are here. It is exactly what I had in mind. And I would love to add you to the giveaway! Good luck!
DeleteHi Amber,
ReplyDeleteI saw you make that fabulous silver purchase Saturday. Not sure how I left The chapel Market without one of Miss Mustard Seed's books but I did. Would love to win the autographed copy you're giving away.
P.S. I am so jealous of all the lucky ladies who brought their husbands, along.
Hi Missy! I will absolutely add you to the giveaway! And I was surprised to see so many hubby's as well. We don't get out alone enough, so this was a day date treat. And he kinda wanted to see how the Southern girls put on a show. :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to host a sale and in that quaint lil town. What fun you must have had!
ReplyDeleteI need to move south, seems like that is where all the good sales are held! :-)
I would love to be entered in your fabulous book give away. I have been inspired by Miss Mustardseed for years now!
